From HERA to LHC through the Color Glass Condensate

چکیده
A classical effective field theory, the Color Glass Condensate (CGC), provides a unified treatment of high parton density effects in both DIS and hadronhadron collisions at very high energies. The validity and limitations of k⊥ factorization can be studied in this effective theory. Multi-parton correlations in the effective theory are described by universal dipole and multipole operators. The evolution of these operators with energy provides a sensitive test of multi-parton dynamics in QCD at high energies.

Color Strings, Pomerons and Color Glass Condensate
In the recent experiments like DIS at HERA or the heavy-ion experiments at RHIC, and also in expected LHC at CERN, the number of involved partons is very large, due to the high energy and/or the high number of participants of those experiments. These high parton densities should in principal lead to an extremely huge multiparticle production, but experimentally we have seen that this is not the...

متن کاملA New Glassy State of Matter: The Color Glass Condensate
In response to recent announcements in the international scientific community, we are pleased to give a brief overview of a new experimental claim that the Color Glass Condensate, an additional sixth state of matter, has been observed. The previously known states of matter include solid, liquid, gas, plasma, and the Bose–Einstein condensate. In the traditional use of the words from our field of...
